Connect & Reflect Hike: Middle School Transitions (GIRLS)

This school year, many 6th, 7th and 8th graders in the Ojai Valley are transitioning to new campuses that will host both middle schoolers and high schoolers and it is expected to be quite an adjustment for them socially, mentally and emotionally. This supportive hiking event will be for these transitioning students to experience a safe space to talk about their feelings, their experiences and learn tools for navigating this life adjustment.

We welcome all students in this demographic whether they are feeling stressed, anxious or worried about the transition or not. Many feel excited or a combination of feelings. Many have parents that are really worried about how the adjustment will go. This is a space for all of that and all experiences are welcome.

This event will be held at a trailhead in Ojai and is led by facilitators with mental health credentials and nature experience. The outing will combine hiking, group discussions, journaling and connection activities to encourage sharing, self-reflection, relating, feeling heard and enjoying the natural world.

6th, 7th & 8th grade girls at Nordhoff or Villanova
