About the Event

This offering is a chance to spend some intentional time with your child and practice being fully present with each other. We will discuss when you feel connected and disconnected to get to know this better and find the unique ways to connect within your family. This experience is for you if you:

  • Feel disconnected or distant from your child or teen
  • Have trouble making time for family conversations
  • Struggle to find family time together that doesn’t involve screens
  • The stress of the pandemic has crept into your life
  • You want to slow down in nature with your family

Who: OUSD families & all community members

Pairs of 1 parent & 1 child (8-18 years old)

What: An afternoon family hike combining adventure and group discussions around improving connections

The hike will be family friendly covering about 1.5-3.5 miles during our time on the trails. Please keep in mind the physical requests of this event as you sign up. 

When: Thursday, March 16th @ 4-6pm (you must arrive promply at 4pm)

Where: Ojai Meadow Preserve

Meet at the trailhead at 1601 Maricopa Highway in Ojai, CA, next to Nordhoff High School

Park along the highway or park at Nordhoff for overflow 

Why: Support the wellness of OUSD families and our larger community members by promoting connection, discussion and time spent outside
